Tell that to the UKC and the AKC since Savvy is dual registered as an American Pit Bull Terrier with the UKC and an American Staffordshire Terrier with the AKC :)

for fuck sakes a pit bull is NOT a american stafford... shit man how many times people are gonna think that

@bitchalicious44 Actually, the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier are arguably two different breeds. This is a heated topic in the dog world. Blue is a color that was never present in the APBT, as stated by Jack Colby, and was later found in the AmStaff. This is because the Amstaff was bred along mastiff lines and the English Mastiff did come in blue. They were originally the same dog, and then they were bred, one for working the other for show.

What a beautiful doggy :)

Anyone wanting to argue that Pit Bulls and Am. Staffs are not the same breed is just showing their ignorance about the breed(s). The Am. Staff name came about by the AKC to disassociate themselves with dogfighting, not because the breed was mixed with anything else to make it different. If they were different breeds you couldn't have them dual registered.

These tests have gotten alot of breeders in trouble for selling mixed breeds as purebreds. The test is right, the breeder is crooked or has been decieved themselves. None the less the most pitbulls and amstaffs are not really what they are claimed to be, this has been proven before many times.

@StymieBlymie Those tests may show breeds that were combined to produce a breed, if the breed isnt included in the test, read the paperwork, thats explained.

They are not the same breed. Amstaffs aren't as "gamey" as the apbts and they have a standard. Their heads are totally different as are colorings. There is a significant difference once you own both of them.

Just goes to show you that no breed is a pure breed. They have been mixed and matched too many times to have significantly different karyotypes. Also, it is hard to judge this DNA test just from your side, we are not shown exactly what your dog's dna is being compared to. But you do have a beautiful dog there. |
